Education, Standards, Culture and Nature in City Architecture

PANEL SESSION 1

Architecture as a Regulator of Urban Life Quality. Urban Design as a Cultural Code. Art Objects and Pop-Art in the City.

Concept:

Architecture is not just the design of buildings, but the formation of human experience. This session explores how design, color, visual codes and artistic elements create an emotional environment where people feel part of the city.

Goals:

  • Understand architecture as a tool for regulating quality of life.
  • Define the role of art and visual codes in city identity.
  • Show best practices of integrating art objects and pop-art into urban fabric.
PANEL SESSION 2

University as a City Laboratory: Education, Standards and Codes of the Future.

Concept:

Modern universities are becoming generators of new approaches in urbanism, construction and standardization. A university is not just a place of learning, but a platform for testing ideas of the future city.

Goals:

  • Show the role of academic environment in developing SIS Code, ESG, LEED standards.
  • Discuss examples of integration of academic programs and real urban planning practices.
  • Develop the idea of "university as city laboratory" — from theory to implementation.
PANEL SESSION 3

City on Screen: Media as Architect of Public Perception.

Concept:

Media shape the image of the city. From visual narratives to solution journalism — everything captured influences how citizens perceive architecture, landscaping and the identity of their space.

Goals:

  • Explore the role of specialized media in promoting urban agenda.
  • Understand how visual content forms a sense of belonging to the city.
  • Define formats of cooperation between media, architects and universities.
PANEL SESSION 4

Landscape as City Scenario: Ecology, Landscaping and Living Environmental Standards.

Concept:

Landscape architecture is the language of sustainable cities. Parks, courtyards, squares and green corridors create the "breath" of the metropolis, regulating climate and the mood of residents.

Goals:

  • Show the role of natural systems in urban planning.
  • Discuss standards and technologies of "living" spaces — from green roofs to ecoparks.
  • Formulate approaches to designing the balance between urbanization and nature.
DAY 2

Research Institute "Almaty Genplan", Aba Street 90

Technologies, Standards and the Future of Urban Innovation

PANEL SESSION 5

Next-Level Standards: Integration of WELL, ESG, LEED and GOST into City and Real Estate Projects.

Concept:

International standards for sustainable construction form a new level of responsibility for environmental quality. Integration of WELL, ESG, LEED and national standards becomes a key factor in city competitiveness.

Goals:

  • Compare international and national approaches to certification.
  • Discuss implementation of SIS Score systems and ESG metrics in development.
  • Identify strategies for collaboration between business, architects and regulators.
PANEL SESSION 6

Exploitable and Green Roofs as the Main Segment for Expanding Urban Space and Flood Protection.

Concept:

Roofs become a new urban territory — spaces for recreation, landscaping and water balance. They protect cities from overheating and flooding, creating new horizons of urbanism.

Goals:

  • Present green roof technologies from TN, Optigrün and other innovations.
  • Show architectural and engineering cases of effective roof utilization.
  • Define regulatory and investment mechanisms for implementing solutions in Central Asia.
PANEL SESSION 7

Digital and Gamification Scenarios in Urban Infrastructure: Designing the Environment of the Future.

Concept:

The city becomes a living platform of interaction. Digitalization and gamification allow us to design space as a system of feedback between residents and their environment.

Goals:

  • Show the role of digital technologies in city design and management.
  • Demonstrate SIS Play Code approaches and QR-scenarios by Alfiya Kalmaganbetova.
  • Discuss the connection of science, design and creative industries as the foundation of "innovative city".
PANEL SESSION 8

Round Table Manifesto: MoveScape Central Asia — Architecture, Investments and City Standards.

Concept:

The forum's concluding discussion unites architects, researchers, investors and urbanists to create the collective MoveScape Central Asia Manifesto — a document shaping the development strategy of cities in the region.

Goals:

  • Synthesize key findings from all sessions.
  • Define development directions: standards, technologies, partnerships, education.
  • Form an annual knowledge exchange platform for Central Asia.

Moderator: Alfiya Kalmaganbetova
